What Is Prosperity Consciousness, Really? And Why Is It Important To You?

This quote showed up but not I'm not exactly sure where it came from:

Prosperity Consciousness is a state of mind employed by metaphysicians, to consciously attract a higher level of abundance in their lives. It operates by means of some simple principles of physics.

I do not agree with the quote...exactly. Why?

Prosperity consciousness is not really about attracting 'stuff' into our lives. Rather, it's about understanding that we already live in an abundant universe, that we don't have to 'try' to attract anything. By recognizing the blessings that unfold daily, we become very attractive.

So, short and sweet: It's not about more stuff. It's about gratitude. And gratitude is the most attractive attitude in the world.

Thank goodness!

  1. I totally agree with your position. The problem with "The Law of Attraction" is the name of the law itself. It implies "lack". If a practitioner enters into the idea that "I need to attract X", the Universe responds "Yes, you do." If the practitioner enters into the idea of "Thank you, Lord for this wonderful X You've supplied", he has really applied what is called the Law of Attraction

  2. I agree as well. Prosperity is not about attracting stuff. It is more than material things. Prosperity encompasses the abundance of every good thing. This includes wonderful relationships, health and vitality and basically our overall happiness. It means that all our needs are met at the appropriate time. All we need to do is seek first the kingdom of heaven and His righteousness and all these things will be added. It is our Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom. Thank You God!!!

  3. There's a marvelous expression from an old saint that goes roughly like this: If all we ever utter are prayers of gratitude, we will have prayed well. I agree. Abundance is a state of mind that knows all is well. Not easy to accomplish, but once done, life is truly grand!

    1. I agree...I am still working on it (knowing all is well)...might take a lifetime or two, but I am determined to get there :)

  4. Andrea: It doesn't have to take a lifetime or two. There is a simple way to develop a continual gratitude mindset. Every day, when you wake up, begin the practice of thanking everything in your life for being of service to you--your bed, your lamps, your clock, your floors, your windows, your walls. Your bathroom fixtures, your stoves, fridges, sinks, faucets, cabinets, doors, tables, chairs, toothbrush, comb, dryer, sidewalks, streets, curbs, lawns, trees, bushes, flowers--everything you encounter during the course of your day. And even those guys you see repaving your streets or washing the windows in an office building, or driving the local bus. You are continually being served whether you recognize it or not. And when you consciously choose to recognize the fact, you begin to change your mind. And as your mind changes, you begin to notice even more in your life. The universe is always showering you with blessings. It takes a bit of discipline to decide to know that, accept that, and live that mantra: The universe is always showering me with blessings. Eventually, gratitude will become second nature and you'll be walking in more abundance than you can handle IN THIS LIFETIME! And it takes discipline. If you have that, you'll be more than rewarded. Blessings....
