Worried? Fearful? Uncertain? Here's the Way Out... (New Thought Sunday Message 11/21/10)

"One of the illusions of life is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. No man has learned anything rightly, until he knows that every day is Doomsday." Ralph Waldo Emerson *

Doomsday. Yeah, it's that simple. You have no guarantee that you will see tomorrow, and you do not even remember yesterday well. Good reason for that. You are meant to be here, in this moment. Live it well. Take some risk. Step out on the plank and walk it. Sitting around hoping that tomorrow will be better is a waste of time and talent. You are needed in this moment.  Here are four suggestions on how to live the good life right now:

  • Consciously contribute to your community. Giving time and talent helps to take your mind off your own selfishness.
  • Consciously commit to something that you love doing.
  • Consciously connect to the world around you, beginning with your own family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
  • Finally, become a consciously compassionate person. Just do the least harm and the most good. You'll know what that means as it presents itself to you.

Stop worrying, quaking, shaking, and feeling sorry for yourself. We need you--your gifts, talents, abilities. Share them with us. And watch how your present moment becomes the very best moment in your day, your experience, your life.

Remember: Live well now, for you're a long time dead!

"Too many people spend too much time trying to perfect something before they actually do it. Instead of waiting for perfection, run with what you've got and fix it as you go." Paul Arden, author
