Practical Spirituality at its best... |
If you're currently on some kind of spiritual quest or even if you think you've found 'the truth', I'll bet all your questions haven't been answered yet. Did you expect that when you 'saw the light', everything would just fall into place and the search would be over? Surprise! You're still on the journey. How do I know? Because that's the way it's supposed to be. It's not about a destination. There's always another hill beyond the one you just scaled. And if you're honest, you don't want it to be any other way. The joy is in the journey.
With that, I offer this: If you want the present moment to be the best it can be, choose to be of service. Service, though sounding all high and mighty, is actually a rather selfish practice. Even though others get the benefit of your actions, you are the one who will ultimately benefit the most. It's good for you, it's good for them, everyone wins.
Service. There's your answer. Confusion over. Next hill, please.
"I slept and dreamt that life was joy; I awoke and found that life was service. I acted, and behold! Service became joy!" Rabindranath Tagore, Indian poet
